How to stop helping at the right time? When to stop?
From the “Orders of Help” by Bert Hellinger.
“…The End.
Finally, I would like a little touch of one particular topic. This topic is: “The End.” There is nothing more beautiful than the end. Why? Because after the end there is always a new beginning. When you help, it is very important to finish at the right time.
Sometimes I imagine the artist who created a beautiful painting, but he could not stop and continued adding and adding until the painting was hopelessly spoiled, it could simply be thrown out. So, we must know how to stop at the right time.
And when is it the right time? This is when it is enough for everyone. This is when it is enough for the helper, and for the client. Then you need to stop. But when is this “enough” for them? When is this the right time to finish? At the moment when there is the highest concentration of the forces.
There is a famous saying: “You need to get up from the table when you are slightly hungry.” You need to stop eating when you taste best. This applies to the help; timely ending releases the forces and sets the participants free. The client is free from the helper, and the helper is free from the client…”
